The true light was coming into the world, which gave light to everyone. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

Mary stood at the foot of the cross, her heart heavy with grief as she watched her beloved son, Jesus, die. The sight before her was unbearable - Jesus' body was writhing in pain, his arms and legs stretched out on the wooden beams, nails driven through his hands and feet. His face was contorted in agony, and his breaths came in short, labored gasps. Mary's eyes were fixed on Jesus, and she could not tear her gaze away from him. She wanted to reach out and comfort him, telling him that she loved him and everything would be alright. But she knew there was nothing she could do to ease his suffering. As the minutes ticked by, Mary felt helpless and despair wash over her. Her mind raced with memories of Jesus' life - his birth, ministry, and miracles. She couldn't believe that it was all coming to an end like this. Mary watched through tears as Jesus cried out, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."
